Abstract

Garbage is one of the environmental problems that to date cannot be handled properly, especially in developing countries. Waste that is not well managed will cause the decline in health and environmental aesthetic values due to water pollution, air, and the development of pest. Handling of waste, especially organic waste should be a big concern for the general public because of the average organic waste produced by households, home industries and so on who do not pay attention to waste results. The waste if through a proper processing can be developed as fertilizer that has economic value and perspective. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to design an organic waste crusher machine and fermentation storage media that will reduce waste pollution using the prototype method. The machine is designed using DHT11 to monitor the temperature in the fermentation process that is connected to the Arduino UNO microcontroller as a means to process the data obtained from the sensor into an information that will be informed by the LCD monitor.
