SISTEM KERJA DAN PEMELIHARAAN TURBIN AIR FRANCIS DI PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA AIR (PLTA) PARAKAN KONDANG SUMEDANG

Abstract


The Hydro Electric Power Plant (HEPP) is a power plant that converts the potential energy of water into mechanical energy by the turbine and then converted again into electrical energy by the generator by utilizing the altitude and falling speed of the water flow. In this case, The Hydro Electric Power Plant (HEPP) Parakan Kondang uses four horizontal shafts Francis type water turbine units, which are used to drive the generator and produce 2,48 MW of electricity per units. In operation, the Francis turbine works by using more pressure processes. So that automatically requires a maintenance system that can reduce the level of damage and extend the life of the turbine and the electricity generated in the HEPP Parakan kondang is greatly affected by the water discharge.
In order to maintain the condition of the Francis turbine, maintenance is needed especially to maintain the parts of the Francis turbine in order to minimize frequent disturbances. Based on the results of the study that caused guide vane turbine to be damaged is the presence of gravel that enters the channel and discharge is very influential on the electrical power produced is evidenced by the highest electrical power of 8,66o watt and the lowest electrical power 989,72 watt.
