Software Cabry Geometry II untuk Meningkatkan Berpikir Kritis pada Materi Irisan Kerucut (Cabry Geometry II Software to Improve Critical Thinking on Construction Materials)

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMA. Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu aspek dari kemampuan matematis tingkat tinggi yang perlu dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Ada beberapa indikator penting dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis, diantaranya adalah  fokus, reason, inference, situasion, clarity dan overview. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan kajian masalah yang dilakukan penulis,  siswa kelas XI merasa kesulitan dalam mengaplikasikan konsep dan sketsa  irisan kerucut pada pelajaran matematika peminatan. Dengan penggunaan media software cabry geometri II menjadi alat bantu bagi siswa untuk memaknai konsep irisan kerucut, visualisasi bangun geometri, sehingga mereka dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan/soal irisan kerucut dengan tepat.

ABSTRACT

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of high school students. One aspect of high-level mathematical abilities that needs to be developed in mathematics learning. There are several important indicators in mathematical critical thinking skills, considerations are focus, reason, conclusion, situation, clarity and general review. Based on the results of observations and problem studies conducted by the authors, students of class XI discussed the problem in applying concepts and sketches of cone slices on specialization math lessons. By using media cabry geometry II software to be a tool for students to interpret the concept of cone slices, visualization of geometry, so that they can solve the problem of cone slices correctly.
