Peningkatan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Sekolah Dasar Melalui Pendekatan Brainstorming (Improvement of Student Mathematics Communication Skills of Basic School Through Brainstorming Approach)

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yangpembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan Brainstorming. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasieksperimen dengan mengambil populasi siswa kelas V (Lima) Sekolah Dasar di lingkungan UPTD KecamatanTalaga, dengan teknik purposive sampling di tentukan sampel penelitian yaitusebanyak 42 siswa. Dari dua kelas yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini, salah satunya digunakan sebagaikelas eksperimen yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Brainstorming.sedangkan kelaslainnnya sebagai kelaskontrol yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelajarannya konvensional. Kedua kelompok diberikan pretes dan postes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Lembar observasidigunakan untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan di kelas eksperimen. Data pretes,postes dan N-gain yang diperoleh diuji secara kuantitatif dengan uji perbedaan rerata parametrik uji-tdan non-parametrik Mann-Whitney.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatankemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan menggunakanpendekatan Brainstorming lebih baik daripada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelanjaran konvensional.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the increase in mathematical communication skills of students who learn using the Brainstorming approach. This research is a quasi-experimental study by taking a population of fifth grade students in five elementary schools in the UPTD Talaga sub-district, with a purposive sampling technique determined by a sample of 42 students. Of the two classes chosen in this study, one of them was used as an experimental class that received learning using the Brainstorming approach. while the other class as a control class whose learning uses conventional learning. Both groups were given pretest and postulated mathematical communication skills. The observation sheet is used to find out the learning process carried out in the experimental class. The pretest, posttest and N-gain data obtained were tested quantitatively by testing the t-test and non-parametric Mann-Whitney parametric mean differences. The results showed that the achievement and improvement of mathematical communication skills of students who received learning using the Brainstorming approach was better than students who learned using conventional learning.
